Position: Sales & Business Development Officer
Location: Office is in Lagos, but sales could be made anywhere in the country

We are looking for individual(s) that will drive sales by acquiring new corporate customers interested in purchasing heavy equipment such as forklift, cranes, dozers, excavators, drills, loaders, backhoes, trucks, crushers and dredgers from the United States. The individual(s) must have extensive and valuable network of potential buyers at major companies. Access to key contacts for major infrastructure/construction contracts and projects is also valuable as we have the assets in place to execute on these opportunities.

The essential job functions or duties of this position are as follows:
• Identify companies that would buy equipment
• Identify companies that would require our service to operate heavy equipment on contractual basis (quarry, mining, construction, manufacturing, etc.)
• Promote the sale of heavy equipment line to customers
• Network and meet with prospective customers to identify what is needed for purchase or operation
• Conduct research on equipment requested by customers to determine appropriate equipment specification
• Complete sales orders, leasing contracts, and all additional sales paperwork and documentation to complete transactions
• Conduct site inspection for potential contract/project clients to ascertain the scope of work and terrain of the work sites
• Document daily calls to customers and develop weekly, monthly, and annual goals
• Check on potential leasing and sales clients routinely to know when exactly they may need the company’s services in future
• Visit leasing clients occasionally to inspect equipment condition
• Coordinate delivery of equipment and hand over equipment to client AS IS – per formal contract
• Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time

• OND/HND/Bachelor’s Degree in any field or equivalent combination of experience, training/or education required.
• Strong business network, good interpersonal skills, confident, outgoing, and sociable character
• Minimum 7+ years of sales, business development and marketing experience, especially selling to corporate organizations
• Previous sales experience and knowledge of heavy equipment preferred, but not compulsory
• Experience in manufacturing, construction and mining/quarry industry preferred, but not compulsory
• Excellent communication and negotiating skills
• Ability to understand and communicate basic financing with customers
• Computer experience is essential with experience in Microsoft Office needed
• Ability to work flexible hours per customer or business demand as needed
• Energetic and self-motivated
• Mature, self-directed and able to work independently with limited or no supervision
